The DockHand Crew says…

“I have been a dockhand for several years. I gain a warm work family and extended friendship group through the members and staff. I'm always creating and implementing new projects such as Game Nights, Mending Circles, Houseplant Care, and Massage by Donation. TheDock gives me a comfortable routine, a place where I belong, and space to throw parties! My skillsets improve and my perspectives grow. This is an inviting home-away-from-home for connection, engagement, authentic communication, and people who share social justice values.”

“The Dockhand program was pivotal for my startup, offering invaluable office space in exchange for time. Its a rich learning environment, fostering collaboration, and community building within Dock's vibrant community. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking dynamic office solutions and community connections.”

“My favourite part about being a Dockhand is getting to be part of the community here at theDock. I get to come work in a space with a great group of people all working on their own interesting projects. It's a great place to learn and make friends, that's what I love most.”

- Eric Buhne, Former Dockhand

“Applying to be a Dockhand was the best decision I made last year. I applied for access to an accessible workspace for studying, but not only did I get that- the Dock offered me endless opportunities to learn from peers and even a personal mentor. From day one, everyone at the Dock made me feel welcome.”
